8 Dec 2015, Tue, 8.30pm
Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS

Celebrating the shared musical icons, traditions and influences on both sides of the causeway, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra conducted by Maestro Tsung Yeh, weaves the Indian tabla, P. Ramlee songs, wayang kulit and jazz into a cross-cultural musical tapestry. The concert features Singaporean and Malaysian composers, as well as musical celebrities such as jazz sensation Jeremy Monteiro and regional artiste Taufik Batisah.

Don’t miss the new work from Malaysian composer Yii Kah Hoe specially commissioned for this occasion – his re-telling of the story The Silly Little Girl and the Funny Old Tree written by the late Singaporean playwright Kuo Pao Kun, performed by Kelantan’s wayang kulit troupe, Kumpulan Sri Campuran and the Orchestra.

Join us for an inspiring musical journey and a truly rare treat!
